We’ve teamed up with BAFA to create the ultimate environment for fitness testing and assessment. We aim to analyse each element of your fitness via a series of focused assessments based on Strength, Power, Aerobic Fitness, Anaerobic Fitness, Agility and Bodyweight. Using unique algorithms we will take into account your height, weight, age and gender to give you an accurate assessment of your performance.
Pete Ackerley (Chief Executive at BAFA) and Matt Ford (Founder of Archon and and ex Britball player) have formed an alliance in order to forge a new era of fitness within the British American Football landscape. Our aim is to create players who have a higher level of physical readiness when it comes to playing Football as well as identifying athletes at all levels of the game. We’d both like to welcome every player, coach, assistant and anyone else involved in the sport to the 2021 BAFA Combine.
8 WEEKS + 8 WORKOUTS = FITTER YOU
There are 8 workouts that will be delivered to your mailbox every Monday starting the 1st March 2021. Each workout will have a designated modality behind it, some might stress your cardio, some your upper body and some your lower body. Every workout has a Time Cap of 20 minutes. The idea of having it over 8 weeks is so that you will be able to do the workouts multiple times in order to improve your scores.
The full BAFA Combine is going to look a little different during lockdown. Before you can return to play we are setting up a series of workouts and WODS that you will be given to complete over an 8 week period. The aim is to get you engaged, create a bit of competition and ultimately keep you conditioned before returning to the field.
THE COMBINE IS FREE
To be part of the combine you will need to register on Archon. You will then be redirected to register for your Team Aretas account which is where you will input your workout scores and be able to view the live leaderboard.
JOINING THE COMBINE
Each workout will have a unique pin number for you to enter your scores into like the one below. When you receive each workout you will be directed on how to enter each combine in order to submit your score.

It’s been a pretty rubbish 12 months or so, but football and the teams that you represent have always been a brotherhood and community. We want to support that and give everyone at BAFA a way to look after your conditioning during lockdown and beyond. The long term solution will be a combine that includes movement in the gym when we all have access once again.
GAMIFICATION & COMPETITION
Whilst we want you to have fun, we also want you to create some friendly competition. With this in mind, we will be sharing everything on social media and building a community through friendly competition, just like you do when you step foot onto the field.
WHAT’S FAIR GAME?
Fair Game is the fact that when you do a workout we are putting our trust in you to have watched and adhered to the criteria of each movement in the videos on Archon. Then when it comes to inputting your scores you put them in as you did them, no exaggeration. Don’t let us, yourself or your community down.

COMPETITION JOINING INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: In addition to your Archon account, you are required to enter the competition via Team Arteas. The Archon platform will generate your total workout score. This score then needs to be inputted into Team Aretas where it will combine all 8 workouts scores to show your placement on the overall LIVE leader board.
Step 2: Workouts will be released on Team Aretas every Monday and Wednesday. You will receive an email when the workouts have gone LIVE. Each workout will be issued with a Combine Pin Code (6 digit number), you will need this code when you’re ready to upload your scores to Archon.
Step 3: Once you have completed the workout and noted down your reps/time head over to Archon to generate your workout score by signing in here: platform.archon-app.com/login
1) From the main menu click ASSESSMENTS
2) Click into the relevant assessment category (as listed in the workout notes)
3) Click into the assessment and input your reps/time
4) Once you have input your reps/time for all Archon scored elements in the workout, click COMBINES in the main menu
5) Click MY COMBINES and in the top right corner and enter the 6-digit combine pin
6) Click into the combine and click VIEW COMBINE METRICS, you will then see where you sit on the Archon leader board for this specific workout and your total workout score.
7) Note down your total score input this into the relevant workout on Team. You will notice it will ask you to input REPS, please enter your total Archon score here (may include a decimal e.g. 136.86) and not total reps.
8) Repeat this process for all 8 workouts.
WHAT DOES THE REST OF THE COMBINE IN 2021 LOOK LIKE?

The workouts will all be based on elements that everyone can do outside of the gym environment. Unless Lockdown is lifted and we can get you back into the gym
We will launch the next phase, once the gyms are open again we will have a full combine live that will assess every part of your fitness and performance
You will be invited to take part in a live physical combine. Here you will be assessed in a variety of tests and workouts to determine your overall athletic ability
